South Africa Improving Court Administration


In July 2012, NCSC completed an 18-month Criminal Justice Strengthening Program in South Africa, funded by USAID. The Program sought to strengthen court administration and to improve the prosecution and adjudication of incidences of Gender-Based Violence in the country.

In September 2012, NCSC participated in the National Court Management Conference sponsored by the South African Department of Justice. The conference theme was: “Excellence in Court Management – Strengthening and Empowering the Profession of Court Administration.” NCSC Vice President, Jeff Apperson attended the conference, which featured a wide array of workshops and plenary sessions on court management, court administration, communication and professionalism.
