Costa Rica: Preventing and Deterring Corruption

In September 2017, NCSC was awarded a cooperative agreement by the U.S. Department of State in Costa Rica to strengthen the capacity of the judiciary to detect and prevent fraud and corruption, and implement an effective ethics framework.

The program will provide technical assistance and training to counterparts in the Costa Rican judiciary to support their efforts to counter corruption and the activities of organized criminal groups. The program leverages NCSC’s on-going partnership with the judiciary of Costa Rica to partner on programs that foster and support innovation in the Costa Rican judiciary through exchanges with U.S. and regional partners.

The two-year program is funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
