Morocco: Experts Conduct Evaluation of Judicial Reform Feasibility

In May and June 2016, NCSC deployed a team of specialized experts to conduct technical feasibility studies for the establishment of the Supreme Judicial Council, the National Center for the Criminal Record, and the Observatory of the Criminal Phenomenon—three institutions foreseen under the 2013 Judicial Reform Charter.

Mr. Jeffrey Apperson, Mr. Nial Raaen, and Mr. Simone Ginzburg conducted interviews and field visits at the Ministry of Justice and courts in Rabat, Casablanca, and Fes. NCSC is working closely with the Ministry of Justice in preparation for stakeholder roundtables to discuss the conclusions and recommendations of the studies in September.

NCSC’s work in Morocco is made possible through funding provided by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
