Tunisia: Commemorating the First Anniversary of the New Asset Declaration System

In November and December, NCSC and the National Anticorruption Agency (INLUCC) of Tunisia organized a month-long sensitization campaign on asset declaration, holding 24 events in 17 governorates. A total of 1,247 individuals attended the events, one-third of whom were local officials, including six newly elected parliamentarians. The campaign had the dual focus of celebrating achievements of the first year of implementation of Law 46-2018 while reminding officials and their constituents of their obligations to comply. The campaign gave special attention to promoting the engagement of women and young people.

NCSC works with INLUCC to implement the new asset declaration law and develop an electronic platform for declaration intake, management, and publication. The Increasing Accountability in Tunisia Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and the U.S. Embassy in Tunis and implemented by NCSC.
