Bangladesh: Strengthening Rule of Law Training

From October to December, the Strengthening Rule of Law Program facilitated six trainings in Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi, and Dhaka, including trainings on evidence, trial, and witness management. Participants engaged in group discussions on electronic evidence, trial preparation, the importance of judicial independence, and the principles of case management. Through these trainings, NCSC helps to increase the capacity of judicial officers to adjudicate complex criminal cases including terrorism, money laundering, and terrorism financing.

Additionally, two additional trainings were organized around the topic of Information and Communications Technology in November in Sylhet and in Dhaka to discuss important guidelines on computer usage including basic hardware and software tutorials, maintaining statistics and databases, and the proper use of email and internet services.

The Strengthening Rule of Law Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism and implemented by NCSC.
