Honduras: Strengthening the Public Defender's Office

In March and April 2018, NCSC evaluated the Public Defender’s Office of Honduras using USAID’s methodology for Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD).

Workshops were held in April in Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, and La Ceiba, to validate the findings of the evaluation and plan improvements through training, technical assistance, and capacity building support.

The HICD framework is a comprehensive approach to achieving effectiveness and sustainability in development programs, by combining the capacity of people with the improved operation of the organizations and systems. The evaluation of the Public Defender’s Office takes into consideration the individual and environmental performance factors that impact the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization.
