Honduras: Advancing Oral Litigation Training

In June 2018, NCSC sponsored nine participants from the Honduran judiciary and prosecution service, as well as university law faculties, to attend the International Diploma Course in Oral Litigation in Washington D.C. Participation in the program was made possible through USAID’s Unidos por la Justicia Program in Honduras, implemented by DAI Global LLC.

The prestigious program is held each year in Washington, D.C., on the campus of American University’s Washington College of Law. The Diploma program is convened in partnership by American University, the Centro de Estudios de Justicia en las Americas (CEJA) and the Universidad Alberto Hurtado (Chile). Through the program, participants had access to premier teaching facilities and observed state-of-the art teaching and course delivery in Spanish. The participants will serve as a core constituency to advance trial advocacy instruction, thereby improving criminal law skills-building and practice in Honduras.
