Uganda, September 2012: Supporting Access to Justice, Fostering Equity and Peace

NCSC is pleased to announce the award of the Supporting Access to Justice, Fostering Equity and Peace (SAFE) Program in Uganda, funded by USAID. The SAFE Program seeks to strengthen formal and informal land dispute resolution systems; improve paralegal services; and prevent or transform emerging conflict affecting communities throughout Uganda.

This unique program is an important initiative of USAID/Uganda's Democracy and Governance portfolio. The success of the program will play a major role in achieving USAID's goals of improved service delivery and peaceful conflict resolution in Uganda.

NCSC has partnered with two unique non-governmental organizations, Global Rights and Search for Common Ground, to implement the SAFE Program. The SAFE Program team will provide technical assistance, training, mentoring, and grant-making to host-country counterparts and sub-grantee organizations, including national civil society organizations and community groups throughout the country. NCSC anticipates that the SAFE program will provide technical and financial support to numerous grantee organizations through the duration of the program.

NCSC and our partners welcome the opportunity to help facilitate access to justice and foster peaceful and prosperous communities in Uganda, in fulfillment of USAID’s Country Development Strategy.
