Global Judicial Integrity Network

In August and October 2017, NCSC Vice President, Jeff Apperson, participated in meetings in Vienna, Austria and Swakopmund, Namibia in preparation for the launch of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Global Judicial Integrity Network in 2018.
The Global Judicial Integrity Network is designed to support judiciaries around the world by developing a forum that will encourage:

  • Exchange of best practices and lessons learned on challenges and emerging issues in judicial integrity and the prevention of corruption;
  • Creation of a database of relevant resources;
  • Development of tools, practical guidance manuals and training programs to address national challenges;
  • Provision of peer-to-peer advisory services, training and other capacity-building support;
  • Assessments of integrity risks and in the development of effective responses to the risks identified; and
  • Development and implementation of codes of conduct and effective accountability mechanisms.

The meetings provided judicial stakeholders with an opportunity to learn about the Network and to contribute to its ongoing development. The Network will complement the UNODC’s broader judicial integrity initiative, which assists judiciaries across the globe in strengthening judicial integrity and preventing corruption in the justice sector, in line with the United Nations’ Convention against Corruption.

NCSC is honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Global Judicial Integrity Network and to support the UNODC’s judicial integrity initiatives around the world. For more information on the Global Judicial Integrity Network, please visit
