Nicaragua: Strengthening Civil Society Organizations

In March 2018, NCSC launched a certification course for civil society organizations (CSOs) in Nicaragua. 30 CSO leaders were selected to participate in the program, which will include courses on the conceptual and legal basis for the operation of CSOs; work plan development, monitoring, and evaluation; project management and risk analysis; and project final evaluations.

The program will run courses on Fridays for eight weeks commencing on April 6, 2018. In addition to the weekly training courses, participants will also have access to an online platform, which will allow them to interact with other participants and trainers outside of the weekly trainings. The program was officially launched at an opening ceremony on March 23. Mr. Jack Doutrich, Political Counselor of the U.S. Embassy in Nicaragua, welcomed the participants and thanked them for engaging in this important initiative.

The CSO certification course is part of the Program to Strengthen the Rule of Law in Nicaragua, funded by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
