Arlington, VA: NACM – IACA Conference Promotes Court Excellence

From July 9 to 13, 2017, NCSC was proud to support the first joint conference of the National Association for Court Management and the International Association for Court Administration. The conference, held in Arlington, was attended by more than 750 people representing more than 45 countries from around the world.

The theme of the conference was “Excellence on a Global Scale,” reflecting the commitment of both NACM and IACA to the worldwide improvement of the administration of justice.

Court excellence took center stage in a plenary session addressing model systems around the world, including the International Framework for Court Excellence and the High-Performance Court Framework. Leading experts from NCSC and other organizations presented on the two models and their applications in various contexts.

NCSC experts participated in sessions throughout the conference and were pleased to host delegates from many of our partner countries.

Conference presenter and illustrator, Margaret Hagan, has published an artistic rendering of the plenary session on her Open Law Lab blog.

You can find out more about conference sessions and review presentations online.  NCSC serves as the Secretariat to NACM.

In November, NCSC will support the International Organization for Judicial Training (IOJT) Conference in the Philippines. For more information on the IOJT Conference, visit the conference website.
